CM to embark on 2-day UP campaign
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit has become a star campaigner for the Congress party in UP. The CM is supposed to start her two-day campaign in UP again from Saturday. Since the bypoll in Hisar, the CM has been projected an icon of development by her party.
Earlier, she campaigned in Uttarakhand and then visited UP for a long campaign. This will be the third time when Ms Dikshit will be campaigning for the Congress in UP.
Partymen said that the development in the city would be used to lure the voters in Uttar Pradesh.
“The CM has done an extraordinary job in the capital. The development under her in the 13 years of her tenure is clearly visible and very soon Delhi will become a world-class city. The achievements of Delhi CM will affect voters of other states,” said a Congress office-bearer.
Some Cabinet meetings were curtailed and cancelled last month due to her election campaign but officials said that it does not affect the routine work.
Meanwhile, Ms Dikshit on Friday gave allotment letters of flats built at Narela, northwest Delhi, 115 industrial workers at a function here. Each beneficiary will have to pay `1.6 lakh to the government as cost of flat having 16.1 square metre carpet area.
