CNG to be dearer from today
The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the sole CNG supplier in the capital and the National Capital Region, has increased the price of CNG in the city by 30 paise per kg, while in the NCR it has increased the price by 35 paise per kg. The new rates will be effective April 2 midnight. According to an IGL spokesperson, the new price list for
CNG would be — Delhi-`29.30 paise per kg, Noida/ Greater Noida/ Ghaziabad-`32.85 paise per kg. IGL managing director Rajesh Vedvyas attributed the hike to increase in operating expenses as a result of revision of the minimum wages by the government. The increase is almost one per cent of the existing price and this would have a marginal impact on the running cost of the CNG vehicles, the spokesperson said.
Mr Vedvyas further added that the CNG still offers nearly 64 per cent savings towards the running cost, when compared to petrol driven vehicles at the current price levels. As compared to diesel, the CNG still costs 22 per cent less.
