Cop booked for rape in Vasant Kunj

A Delhi police head constable and his associate have been booked for sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi on Tuesday.
A senior police official said that the head constable has been identified as Anil Kumar.
An FIR was lodged at the Vasant Kunj (north) police station against him. His friend has been booked for criminal conspiracy.
The victim has said in her complaint that the accused head constable sexually assaulted her at a hotel in Mahipalpur area.
“Both Anil and his friend Devender have been know to the victim since 2011. She said that they took her to a hotel but Devender left and Anil sexually assaulted her,” said a police official.
A police source said that the victim was taken to a nearby government hospital but rape was not confirmed in the medical report. The police registered an FIR on the basis of her allegation. The source said the woman has a criminal background. Her brother is reportedly in jail and she met Anil when he was posted in court.
