Cop riding bike hit, succumbs
A Delhi police head constable, who was on his way home on a motorcycle, was mowed down by an unidentified speeding vehicle in Samaipur Badli on Wednesday evening.
The police said the deceased, Vijender, a head constable at the Samaipur Badli police station, was returning home on his motorcycle.
The incident took place at around 10 pm. “When the victim was near Bawana area, a speeding unidentified vehicle hit his bike, leaving him critically injured,” a senior police official said.
The police control room was informed by locals. The police said Vijender was lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased, a resident of Ladpur, Kanjhawala, is survived by his wife and two daughters.
