Cop stabs son in fight with wife

A Delhi police constable stabbed his 15-year-old son at his Hauz Khas residence on Sunday morning for trying to prevent him from assaulting his wife. Police officials said the accused, Naresh Kumar, 41, a constable with police control room, stabbed his son Nikhil Kumar, a Class 10 student, with a steel hair clip and thrashed his wife Kusum, 39. His wife made a PCR call at 6.05 am on Sunday following which a police team rushed to his house and arrested him.
Sources said that Naresh had an argument with his wife over a minor issue. “He started thrashing Kusum at his H-21, Hauz Khas police colony residence. Nikhil rushed in and tried to stop him from assaulting Kusum. Naresh caught hold of a hair clip and stabbed his son in the chest,” a source said.
Nikhil was taken to JPN Trauma Centre where he is undergoing treatment. The police recorded the statement of the victim following which a case of assault was registered against the accused cop at the Hauz Khas police station and he was arrested.
