Cops detain man, find looted coin
One suspect has been detained in connection with the Kalkaji murder case by the police which claimed to have recovered a “coin” looted by unidentified assailants in a daring double robbery on Wednesday night from his possession.
Police officials said the suspect, whose identity was not confirmed, was detained near the MCD construction site in Kalkaji area on Wednesday night by a team of cops. “When he was physically searched, a coin was recovered which was similar to the coin looted from the house of Vidya Gulabani, a resident of 4/2 Kalkaji Extension on Tuesday night when she was gagged and tied up by unidentified assailants who had earlier killed her neighbour at his 4/1, Kalkaji Extension residence.
The police said that the coin was shown to the victim who recognised it. “We are on a hot trail. The suspects are being identified and they will be arrested soon. A special team is following the case very closely and we are hopeful of a breakthrough in the coming 12 hours,” a senior police official said.
