Cops release sketch of second suspect
In a fresh development in the investigations of the Dhaula Kuan rape, the investigating officers have on Saturday released a sketch of a second suspect of the five men who abducted and raped a 30-year-old call-centre employee.
It is expected that with the help of witnesses, sketches of the other accused are likely to be released on Sunday and Monday.
The police, meanwhile, also confirmed that the sketch of the second person believed to be involved in the heinous crime was released after recording statements of the victim’s friend who claims to have seen one of the accused. “We have released another sketch today. The victim’s friend has seen him clearly,” H.G.S. Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of police (south), said.
However, the DCP (south) also pointed out, “We have drawn the sketch of the third suspect. But the victim has some more vital descriptions. We did not disturb the victim because of her state of mind.”
The rape incident occurred when the girl was walking towards her home in Moti Village near Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi early on Wednesday morning along with one of her colleagues when the men in a vehicle abducted her and took turns to rape her.
The victim was later dumped in a secluded part of the Mongolpuri area after which she lodged a complaint with the police.
