Couple kill teen for attempt to rape wife

A man has been arrested along with his wife and a friend for allegedly committing the murder of a teenager who allegedly tried to rape his wife at knife-point in a northwest Delhi locality.

The police officials said the accused, identified as Rajneesh, 32, his wife Shobha, 28, and their friend Hansraj, 20, all hailing from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested for allegedly strangling a 17-year-old youth at their Kaushal Puri residence in Adarsh Nagar on May 17.
The body was found near the residence by the police and when police tried to inquire from Rajneesh, he was found absconding.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the deceased had visited Rajneesh’s house.
“We had information that Rajneesh and Hansraj had asked him to come over to his house. When Shobha was questioned thoroughly, she disclosed that her husband and Hansraj had committed the murder with her help after the deceased attempted to rape her at knife point on May 14,” deputy commissioner of police (northwest), N.S. Bhundela said.
“When Shobha put up a resistance and started screaming for help, the teenager ran away. He had threatened that he will return to rape her. This provoked the couple and they planned to kill the teenager with the help of Hansraj,” said deputy commissioner of police Mr Bundela.
