Couple killed for honour?

A couple found dead under mysterious circumstances in a southeast Delhi park on Saturday was reportedly killed for “honour” by a relative of the girl who has been detained by the police.
The Delhi police kept mum about the issue on Sunday evening and calls to senior officials of southeast Delhi police went unanswered. Sources, however, revealed that investigation has made progress and it is apparently looking like a case of “honour killing”.
“The identity of the couple has been found. However, the details will not be shared at this stage as it can hamper investigations,” a senior police official said. The couple was found in a park at New Friends Colony on Saturday. Asked if it was a case of honour killing, Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said, “I can not comment on ongoing investigation.” Sources said that three suspects have been detained, including the relatives of the couple, and they are being questioned at the New Friends Colony police station. The arrests are likely to be made soon, sources said. Two SIM cards found near the bodies helped establish the identity of the two.
