Court dismisses Team Anna plea
A city court on Saturday dismissed a plea of Team Anna members for registration of an FIR over alleged corruption related to the Commonwealth Games and that the cases be investigated.
Rejecting the application for the registration of FIR, additional chief metropolitan magistrate Amit Bansal, however, said if the petitioners — Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal, Swami Agnivesh, yoga guru Ramdev and others — want to furnish any evidence in support of their claims, they could submit it on February 7.
“The application is dismissed. As far as CWG scam is concerned, I am not passing any order now. The date fixed for further evidence, if any, will be February 7,” the court said.
The complainants had alleged in the petition that despite massive corruption in the Games-related work, agencies have not been probing all the cases.
