Court grants 5-hr custody parole to Vishal
Modifying its December 23 order, the Delhi high court has granted a five-hour custody parole to Vishal Yadav, undergoing rigorous life imprisonment in the sensational Nitish Katara murder case, to attend his sister’s engagement on January 3 from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Granting parole, a vacation bench of the Delhi HC comprising Justices Valmiki Mehta and V.K. Jain said, the convict Vishal would attend the function from 5 pm to 10 pm under the custody of the Delhi and UP police officers. The division bench will take up for hearing his plea for interim bail to take part in the marriage ceremony of his sister on January 6.
Vishal, nephew of controversial UP politician, D.P. Yadav, has sought interim bail to make arrangements for his sister’s marriage.
He submitted that his presence at the marriage ceremony was necessary as he was the eldest member in the family.
He also drew the court’s attention to his “good conduct” when he was on bail for more than two years during the pendency of the trial as well as in the jail while serving the life imprisonment sentence.
