Court likely to frame charges

A city court is likely to pronounce on Monday its order on framing of charges against 14 suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists allegedly involved in carrying out the serial blasts in the city in 2008.
Tis Hazari Court additional sessions judge (ASJ) Santosh Snehi Mann is likely to pronounce his order on framing of charges against the 14 suspects as the counsel for the Delhi police and the defence wrapped up their arguments in the 2008 serial blasts case,
The prosecution claimed that the framing of charges will be a major step for paving the way for trial.
The Delhi police has sought prosecution of the 14 suspects, most of whom hailed from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code dealing with waging war against the country and murder. Maximum sentence under these provisions is death penalty.
The prosecution has also levelled charges against them under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Explosive Substances Act.
Among the 14 accused, five men — Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur Rehman, Mohd Shakeel and Saquib Nissar — were arrested by the Delhi police following an encounter at Batla House on September 19, 2008.
Of the remaining accused, four belonging to IM’s media cell, Mohd Asghar Peerbhoy and Mobin Kader Sheikh, Asif Basiruddin Sheikh and Sadiq Sheikh were apprehended by the Mumbai police.
Three others Mohd Hakim, Shahzad and Salman were arrested by Uttar Pradesh police, Akbar Ismail Chaudhary was apprehended by the Hyderabad police and Kayamuddin Kapadia was held by Madhya Pradesh police.
The court has been conducting the proceedings in the five cases, registered in connection with the blasts here on September 13, 2008, through video conferencing as 11 of the 14 suspects are at present lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Ahmedabad, due to their alleged involvement in carrying out synchronised blasts there.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
