Court orders removal of chairman, CEO
In a major setback to the UP government, the Allahabad high court has ordered the removal of the chairman and the CEO of the Noida Development Authority on Thursday.
The court ordered the Industrial Development Commissioner to immediately take charge of both the posts and directed the state government not to post the two officials in western UP.
A PIL was filed in court seeking the removal of Rakesh Bahadur and Sanjeev Charan, the two IAS officials occupying the top posts in Noida development authority.
The Madhav Samaj Nirman Samiti that filed the PIL claimed that nearly 14 plots of farmers’ land in Noida were allotted to hoteliers at cheap rates.
It has also been said that the wrongful allotments caused a loss of Rs 4,721 crore to the state exchequer.
