Court summons Haroon Yusuf
Delhi food and civil supplies minister Haroon Yusuf was summoned by a Delhi court for allegedly furnishing false information in the affidavit, which he filed along with the nomination papers two years ago.
The summons have been issued by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Chaudhary for the alleged offence committed by Mr Yusuf under Sections 177 (furnishing false information), 191 (giving false evidence) and 193 (punishment for furnishing false evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The court issued summons after hearing a complaint filed by Naved Yar Khan, son of a former MLA Sultan Yar Khan, alleging that Mr Yusuf had allegedly furnished the affidavit containing certain false information that no case was pending against him while filing the nomination papers on November 10, 2008, whereas a criminal complaint was pending against him for the offence punishable under Section 500 (defamation) of the IPC in the Tis Hazari Courts.
