Court won’t stay results of IIT-JEE
Dismissing the petition of an NGO, the Delhi high court on Wednesday refused to stay the declaration of this year’s Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) exams.
A division bench of acting chief justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice Mukta Gupta refused to stay the declaration of IIT-JEE 2010 result, but directed the IIT to file an affidavit by June 2 as to how the mistakes have been occurred.
After hearing from the counsel of the IIT that their system is foolproof and is up to standard, the division bench said, “Demonstrate to us the software with which you set these papers and also how the papers are scrutinised.” The court has also sought the affidavit from the IIT, after hearing a PIL of an NGO.
