CRPF man charged with rape of minor
Following court orders, the Delhi police has charged a CRPF constable and his accomplice with allegedly abducting and raping a Class 11 student in Khajuri Khas area of northeast Delhi. The police had earlier allegedly refused to charge the accused, identified as Amit Sharma, 26, a factory worker, and Jaikishen, 36, who is posted with
Wazirabad-based 103 battalion for raping the 17-year-old victim and had instead registered a case of molestation. The victim had told the cops in her statement that the two accused used to molest her but she kept mum over the matter and resisted their advances.
The sources said the two accused, however, abducted the victim on February 6 and raped her. “On February 7, the victim was asked to record her statement before a court following which a metropolitan magistrate of Karkardooma courts came down heavily on the force and directed them to file a case of rape along with other relevant sections of IPC against the accused, who are natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Sources said the accused, who lived in the victim’s neighbourhood, were stalking the victim over the last one year. They have reportedly even raped her in the past on one occasion, sources said. However, the victim had not disclosed the incident to her parents or the police in order to avoid social stigma.
“On February 6, the victim was returning home when the accused took her to an isolated place where they raped her. The victim disclosed the happenings to her mother following which her mother took her to Khajuri Khas police station and lodged a complaint,” a police official said.
