CVC findings: PWD sends report to MHA
The public works department of the Delhi government is believed to have dispatched a letter to the Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Tuesday in response to the allegations made against the agency by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), said sources. However, senior officials were not available for comments.
Sources said that the response to the MHA was prepared by a special team after a thorough checking of all infrastructure projects executed by the city government, over which the CVC has raised questions.
Sources said that chief minister Sheila Dikshit had directed chief secretary P.K. Tripathi to conduct a quality checking of all projects mentioned by the CVC for poor quality and standards.
Sources also stated that Mr Tripathi had asked senior PWD officials to carry out a “load test” on the Barapullah elevated road as the CVC in its latest report mentioned about deficiencies in the project as well as questioned quality of construction material used in it.
