DDA housing scheme opens
The Delhi Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution for full statehood for the city, though many such resolutions were passed earlier also but never implemented. The second day of the Winter session of the Assembly was again marked with ruckus as the Opposition BJP pressed for its demand of House Committee to enquire into the alleged Commonwealth Games corruption. All the BJP MLAs were again expelled from the House after treasury bench moved a resolution in this regard.
The resolution for full statehood was moved by the Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma on which the chief minister Sheila Dikshit, while participating, replied that full statehood has been a long-standing demand of Delhi and it should be granted as government has been facing difficulties due to multiplicity of authorities.
In another discussion on traffic situation in the city, Ms Dikshit stated that the present challan is of just `100 is not adequate and asked the police to take up this matter with courts.
