Delhi govt sends report to PMO
Under stinging attack from the Opposition, the Delhi government is today believed to have sent the final response to the Shunglu Committee report which has indicted Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna among several people for delays and losses in infrastructure projects for the Commonwealth Games, said sources.
However, senior Delhi government officials on Thursday refused to talk about the city government’s final response on the high panel committee report which was sent to the PMO. Talking to the media, Ms Dikshit had earlier stated: “We will send the report to the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet Secretary.” The Delhi chief minister had earlier also confirmed, “a detailed report is being prepared based on the Shunglu report on city infrastructure.”
The senior Delhi government officials had also confirmed that all the response of the Delhi government will be made public. “We will post the response on the Shunglu Committee report on the Delhi government website,” stated a senior Delhi Government official.
The Shunglu Committee report, alleging financial and managerial discrepancies on several contracts executed by various agencies, is being examined by the PMO. So far, the High Level Committee has sent four reports indicting the Delhi government with CWG-related corruption.
Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded Ms Dikshit’s resignation.
