Delhi plan outlay Rs 11,400 crores
With the release of the Annual Plan 2010-11, the Delhi government on Wednesday confirmed approval of Rs 11,400 crores in the plan outlay. The plan size will be funded with the Central Plan Assistance of Rs 1,284 crores and the Delhi government’s own resources of Rs 10,116 crores, stated Delhi government officials.
The Annual Plan was released after a meeting between the Delhi government and Planning Commission officials.
The meeting to finalise the plan included Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi finance & planning minister Dr A.K. Walia, chief secretary, principal secretary (finance), principal secretary (PWD & planning), commissioner (transport), CEO (DJB), commissioner (MCD), principal secretary (education) and other senior officials. The city government officials added that during the course of discussion in the meeting, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit raised the issue of raw water resources for Delhi, allotment of land for construction of more EWS houses, funding for Delhi Metro Phase-III, implementation of JNNURM and Commonwealth Games Projects, early completion of Eastern & Western Peripheral Expressways and approval of proposed Dumta bill. The chief minister on Wednesday also requested Deputy Chairman, of the Planning Commission to expedite clearances for immediate commencement on construction of Renuka Reservoir by Himachal Pradesh government.
“Meanwhile, it was also stressed upon the need of conservation of water and exhorted one and all to provide high importance to water issues,” said a senior Delhi government official.
