Depressed man kills himself
A 26-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his rented accommodation in West Patel Nagar area of west Delhi late on Friday evening. He was apparently passing through a phase of depression after failing to get admission in an engineering college despite repeated attempts.
According to the police, the incident came to light when his friend and roommate, who used to work in a private company in Gurgaon, returned to the rented accommodation in west Patel Nagar at around 2 am. He found his friend, identified as Kapish, hanging from the ceiling fan. He immediately informed his landlord and also Kapish’ elder brother, who runs a factory in Rohini area of outer Delhi.
His parents, who live in Haryana, have also been informed.
The police has recovered a suicide note from the spot in which the deceased has purportedly written that he was ending his life as he had not been able to fulfil the aspirations of his parents.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that Kapish was trying to get through in an engineering college for the past many years and had repeatedly been appearing in various entrance examinations. However, he could not succeed.
