Depressed man kills self, 2 sons

Unable to cope with the death of his wife almost two months ago, a 38-year-old man electrocuted himself along with his two minor sons in Kapasera area of southwest Delhi early on Friday.

The police officials said the deceased have been identified as Rajiv, 38, who ran a food stall outside his Bijwasan residence in Kapasera area, and his two sons, Hrithik, 10, and Rohit, 6. Rajiv’s neighbour called up the PCR at around 9.20 pm saying that he was lying unconscious at his house no 523 in Bijwasan along with his two sons. The trio was taken to Deen Dayal Upphadyay hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. Probe revealed that Ravi was suffering from acute depression after his wife Kamlesh, 30, died. “The growing financial burden was adding to his woes and may have ostensibly triggered the suicide,” a police source said.
Sources said Rajiv had tied electric wires around the bodies of his sons first.
