Discoms to submit business details to derc in writing

The private discoms will now have to provide all the details of their income and expenditure to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). The discoms will have to provide every minute detail of their business, including details of the buying rate and the losses, in written form.
The DERC took the step after the Delhi government’s decision of a CAG audit of the accounts of discoms. The recent BSES-NTPC controversy resulted in a `500-crore equity inflow from Delhi government to the private discoms. After the continuous attacks of opposition and the pressure from the RWAs, the government is taking this step to ensure that the private discoms do not lie to the government about their losses.
“If the private discoms are suffering from heavy losses then why are they continuing in business. After the monthly details of the discom’s accounts every thing will become crystal clear. The discoms say that they are in pressure to provide electricity on cheaper rates despite of the fact that the buying rates of electricity are going higher,” said a DERC official.

Metro frequency impacted due to ohe maintenance
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, Jan. 2

Commuters on the Blue line route of Delhi Metro continued to face a tough time for the second consecutive day on Monday due to a technical snag in the Over-Head Electrification (OHE) between Anand Vihar and Vaishali stations.
There was delay in train services throughout the day between Vaishali and Anand Vihar Metro Stations on the Dwarka Sec-21-Vaishali corridor. Train frequency reduced to 15 minutes initially and 10 minutes later from the normal 5 minutes on Monday morning. “The frequency was reduced due to maintenance work in OHE between Anand Vihar and Vaishali. The frequency in the morning was 15 minutes and it was brought down to 10 minutes later in the day,” a Delhi Metro spokesman said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
