Dismissed BSF constable, 3 kids bare all in protest
A dismissed BSF constable walked down the Rajpath here on Wednesday afternoon with his three children, all without a thread on their bodies, in protest against the alleged mistreatment meted out to him in service.
Police officials said, the constable, identified as Ashok Kumar Sirohi, a resident of Nangloi, was detained with his three kids and taken to the Parliament Street police station. The sources revealed that Mr Sirohi wanted to meet Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to convey his displeasure about the alleged mistreatment meted out to him. Sources revealed that Mr Sirohi was reportedly terminated from service recently on medical grounds.
He was seen carrying one kid on his back while two others walked besides him on Rajpath. A pedestrian immediately alerted the police and Mr Sirohi was detained. The police said Mr Sirohi has threatened to commit suicide if he is not reinstated. “I don’t have any financial support to take car of my family. My job was only source of income. How am I going to take care of my wife, kids and parents,” he told the cops. BSF officials refused to comment on the issue saying that they had no information about the termination of Mr Sirohi.
