DU: Semester system in all streams from new session

Delhi University will introduce semester system in all the streams in the new session. In a meeting with the principals, vice-chancellor Prof. Dinesh Singh also said that each college should try to establish its own unique image for which the university will extend all help.

“In a meeting with the heads of all the colleges, the V-C said that semester system will be implemented in all streams from July. He also asked the principals to prepare a strategy for its implementation,” principal of DU college said.
The vice-chancellor also said that the university is planning to start awards for teachers to encourage them so that they take interest in teaching. It has been frequently alleged that number of teachers do not take classes and indulge in strikes, protests and dharnas putting the future of students at stake.
The V-C also asked the principals to try establish a unique identity of their institution just as eminent colleges like St. Stephen’s, Hindu College, Kirorimal College.
