DU student abducted, murdered
A 21-year-old Delhi University student was abducted and later stabbed to death by five assailants in the Wazirabad area of northwest Delhi.
The police said the deceased, Kamal Singh Rawat, a resident of Sonia Vihar’s Pehla Pushta, who was pursuing B.Com (correspondance) from the Khalsa College, was a
bducted by five assailants in a Wagon R car while he was going to attend his typing classes with his friend, Kanaiya Bhist, 20. The police recovered his mutilated body with multiple stab wounds from a forest near Gurduwara Nanaksar in Wazirabad. No arrests have been made so far.
The police sources revealed that the incident took place at around 6 am on Monday when Kamal left his residence for the classes at an institute at Majnu Ka Tilla.
His friend, Bhist, told the police that five assailants abducted him in the car and before he could react, escaped from the area. Investigations have revealed that Bhist was having a financial dispute with an auto dealer, identified as Manoj, who runs Sai Auto Sales in Sonia Vihar.
“Kamal was celebrating his 22nd birthday on November 26 and had made advance booking for a bike with Manoj last month. However, Manoj failed to deliver the bike on the promised date and also refused to return his money (Rs 76,500). Kamal had filed a complaint with the consumer court which asked Manoj to return the money. This had dealt a severe blow to Manoj’s influence in the area. We are suspecting his involvement in the case,” a senior police official said.
