DU V-C may get extension
Delhi University vice-chancellor Deepak Pental may get a six month extension. The news is doing the rounds in the human resource development ministry circles that the ministry decided to extend Prof. Pental’s tenure in the wake of the Commonwealth Games.
“Appointment of a new V-C is a very lengthy process and while so many activities related to CWG 2010 are on, it would be safe if we allow Prof. Pental to continue. We have informed him verbally, we may issue letter soon,” an HRD ministry official said.
However, Prof. Pental, when contacted, refused to comment on the matter.
