Dwarka-Noida Metro line software glitch causes delay
Metro passengers had no choice but to face the inconvenience during the busy morning hours on Tuesday, as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) services were affected for about an hour due to software malfunctioning.
Passengers complained that after the services were affected for more than an hour, they were not able to get trains from Anand Vihar even at 1 pm.
The Metro services on the crowded Dwarka Sector-9 to Noida City Centre/Anand Vihar were affected due to “interlocking problem” between Moti Nagar and R.K. Ashram Metro stations resulting in loss of train identification numbers. This Metro route registers an average footfall of 6 lakhs on weekdays.
A DMRC spokesman said, “Once the train identification numbers are lost, the trains will not be able to move. And this resulted in bunching of trains. The problem was rectified after sometime and services on the line (are) resumed.”
“Communication snag affected train services from 11.42 am to 12.35 pm, on this line,” the spokesperson said.
