Eatery owner shot dead, two injured
An eatery owner was shot dead and two other persons sustained gunshot injuries when unidentified persons opened indiscriminate fire at an eatery in Adarsh Nagar area of northwest Delhi around Sunday midnight. The police suspect that the incident was a result of rivalry between the members of two gangs.
According to the police, two persons — Rahul Rathi (38) and Abhiranjan (32), residents of MCD quarters in Jehangirpuri — had arrived in their Ford Fiesta at the eatery owned by one Anil Shah in Adarsh Nagar area around midnight. The two did not get down from their vehicle and ordered their food inside. When Anil Shah was serving them, two unidentified persons came there and fired several rounds at the vehicle and fled. The police was trying to ascertain whether they too had come in a car or a motorcycle.
Rahul, Abhiranjan and Anil sustained gunshot wounds. Anil died on the spot. Rahul was taken to Babu Jagjiwan Ram Memorial hospital, while Abhiranjan was rushed to Trauma Centre in I.P. Estate.
