Eveteasers stab youth to death
May 11: An argument with six youth who were allegedly teasing a girl in Katwaria Sarai on Monday evening resulted in the death of a 19-year-old hotel management student.
The deceased, identified as Honey, a resident of Katwaria Sarai, was stabbed to death by six classmates at around 11.30 pm on Monday, the police said. Honey had earlier prevented the six from teasing a girl in the market. The assailants later planned the attack and struck when he was going home.
The police has arrested Maninder Singh, Charan Singh and Saurabh Yadav, while the three youth who escaped after the incident have been identified as Himanshu, Raju and Narender.
The police said that Raju is a student of Sanskrit Vidyapeet while the others are Honey’s classmates at Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Qutab Institutional Area of south Delhi. All the accused are reported to be hailing from Haryana
The incident triggered anger among the neighbours and relatives of the deceased and the three accused, who had locked themselves in their rented accommodations, were hunted down.
The people thrashed the three severely before the police reached the spot and took them in custody.
Honey’s relatives have told the police that the six had earlier passed lewd comments at girls in the area to which Honey had objected.
Honey had asked them to mend their ways following which an argument took place between Honey and the six accused.
The police said Honey was first thrashed physically by the accused and later stabbed with a knife.
