Ex-Afghan Prez wife’s PSO kills self

A 50-year-old assistant sub-inspector of the Delhi police who was deployed as a personal security officer of former Afghan President’s wife allegedly shot himself dead at his official residence on Monday morning.

The police said the deceased, Harish Chander, the PSO of Najibullah’s wife Fatima, was found dead by his colleague inside his official residence at 5, Kamaraj Road in the Tughlaq Road area, after he heard a gunshot coming out of his room at around 7 pm.
Chander was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday evening.
The police claimed that Chander was allegedly in depression, which may have triggered the incident. No suicide note has been recovered from the deceased. The police has registered a case and an investigation is going on.
The sources said Chander was earlier deployed with at Buta Singh’s residence on Teen Murti Marg. Chander was promoted to the rank of an ASI recently.
