A fake letter to J&K gov sounds alert

A “mysterious” letter ostensibly written by the wife of vice-president was received by governor’s office in Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago demanding accommodation for “officials” undertaking Amarnath Yatra this year.

During investigations by the security agencies, it turned out that the letter was written by an unidentified person, who has not been traced so far and the Delhi police has not ruled out the involvement of terrorists in the matter. The police is investigating whether the letter was sent by any terrorist group planning to sabotage the yatra this year, although there is no reference to any attack or plan in the letter
The letter, which was ostensibly written by Salma Ansari, wife of vice-president Hamid Ansari, was received by the office of R.K. Goel, secretary to governor, J&K, few days ago. Senior officials of New Delhi district could not be reached for their comments despite repeated attempts, but sources said the letter, which was written in English, noted that some officials of Mr Ansari were undertaking Amarnath yatra and directions were given in the letter to the J&K government to provide accommodation to them.
“We became suspicious about the language used in the letter. Consequently, a senior government official got in touch with vice-president’s office. To our utmost surprise, the officials at V-P’s 6, Maulana Azad road residence, revealed that no such letter was sent from Ms Ansari,” a senior police official said.
The matter was referred to the Delhi police and a case of forgery and cheating was registered at Tughlaq Road police station on Tuesday. “The letter was sent by a courier agency whose officials are being questioned,” the official said. Asked whether the police was probing terror angle, the official said, “The involvement of terror elements to sabotage the Amarnath Yatra can’t be ruled out.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
