Flat owners warn of stir against team A
Protesting Team Anna member Manish Sisodia’s visit to Greater Noida in support of local farmers, a flat owners’ association in Noida on Friday threatened to launch a campaign against them.
Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA) warned the Team Anna against “ignoring their interests.” Mr Sisodia is scheduled to meet farmers affected by the land acquisition in Noida Extension. NEFOMA threatened to show black flags to the Team Anna members and launch campaign against them.
“We condemn Teams Anna’s move. They are trying to politicise the issue and playing with our sentiments. We warn them if they did not stop all this then we will show them black flags where-ever they go,” said Shweta Bharti, representative of NEFOMA. “We, on behalf of over 1 lakh middle class Noida Extension flat buyers, invite Team Anna to come and join our dharna on June 8 at NCRPB Office, Lodhi Road, New Delhi,” said Ms Bharti.
On Friday, the NEFOMA had a meeting at Sector-5, Noida, where besides condemning Anna Team’s move they also held discussions on the forthcoming dharna. The dharna would be organised by the association demandi
ng approval of Noida Extension projects immediately.

400 godowns, houses damaged in sadar bazar fire

A major fire broke out in the Sadar Bazar area in the early hours of Friday. The fire department officials confirmed that at least 25 fire tenders and 100 firemen were pressed in service to control the massive fire. At least 400 godowns and residential buildings suffered damages.
“We received a call about the incident at around 1 am. We also faced trouble in reaching to the spot as the fire was spread in a very congested area of Sadar Bazaar. As many as 25 fire tenders and more than 100 fire department personal were sent to control the massive fire which was ‘middle’ on the scale,” said a fire department official.
Some people received minor injuries in the incident as some residential buildings were also suffered damages.
“Fortunately, the fire broke out in the area where the shopkeepers have their godowns. Hundreds of such godowns and the goods turned into ashes. Some LPG cylinder also exploded during the rescue work which triggered panic in the area,” the official added.
