Games vehicle hits man crossing road
A 45-year-old pedestrian was injured when a Commonwealth Games car hit him on Sardar Patel Marg on Wednesday morning even as the Delhi traffic police admitted that cases of rash driving were being reported in the dedicated Games lane.
Special commissioner of police (traffic), Ajay Chadha, said that drivers ferrying Commonwealth Games athletes and officials cannot violate speed limit on the lanes.
“The Games’ vehicles have to ply according to the speed limit on city roads. Some cases of violation have been noticed on the lane. One or two accidents have also taken place. We have registered cases and no one will be allowed to violate laws,” Mr Chadha said.
