GDA will levy cess to fund Metro

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has decided to impose a new cess on sale of land in the district in order to fund the development of Metro in the city.
According to GDA, the cess of Rs 505 per square metre would be added to the development charge of Rs 1,840 per square metre, thus taking the entire development charge to Rs 2,345 per square metre. The decision was taken at a meeting on Friday.
