Girl ‘abducted’ from Panchal Vihar house

May 3: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from her Panchal Vihar residence of Karawal Nagar on Sunday night.

The incident occurred when the victim, identified as Priti, was returning to her residence along with her mother. They were coming back from a relative’s house. “When the victim reached near Shani temple in Panchal Vihar, a car halted near the temple and four persons emerged. They dragged the victim, who was walking few metres away from her mother, into the car,” a sources said.
In her complaint, the victim’s mother claimed that a Maruti Van had stopped beside her daughter and dragged her into the car.
The victim’s mother raised an alarm following which some pedestrians gathered at the spot and tried to chase the vehicle. “We have recorded the statement of the victim’s mother. We are cross examining her version with other eyewitnesses. We are conducting raids at some places and the girl will be rescued,” said a police official.
