Girl, 12, raped by minor in W. Delhi

A 12-year-old girl was abducted and raped allegedly by a minor in Nihal Vihar, west Delhi, on Sunday.
The police said the accused and his friend, who is also a juvenile, had been stalking the victim since the last six months and had even tried to approach her in the past. The victim, a resident of A-block, Nihal Vihar, however avoided them and kept silent on the matter.
“On Sunday morning, the victim left her residence behind Ganesh Market to fetch some vegetables when the incident happened at around 10 am. The accused approached her and told her that he wanted to talk to her. When she resisted, the accused dragged her into the basement of his house with the help of his friend. The main door of the house was locked by a woman who kept guard outside while the accused raped her following which the girl fell unconscious,” the official said.
The accused left the victim in the basement and escaped from the spot. When she regained consciousness, she somehow managed to make it to her residence where she narrated the incident to her parents who in turn made a call to the police control room.
A team of cops arrived at the house and the victim was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
The medical examination of the victim has confirmed sexual assault and a case has been registered against the accused and his accomplice. No arrests have been made so far.
“We have reasons to believe that the accused was helped by one of his friends, who is also a juvenile,” the officer said.
