Girl alleges rape by her friend

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her friend who committed the offence after giving her drug-laced soft drinks. The incident was reported at Safdarjung Enclave in south Delhi on Friday evening and the accused has been arrested.

As per allegations, the girl had met the accused, identified as Akash, a resident of Tughlakabad, on August 3 when the latter had given drug-laced soft drink consuming which she fell unconscious and was then raped. A couple of days ago too, he tried to do the same thing following which the victim decided to report the matter to the police. A case was registered following which the accused was arrested.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl had met Akash nearly three years ago and they had developed intimate relationship.
The accused used to promise her that he will marry once they became major.
However, the accused began avoiding the girl on the issue of marriage. On August 3, when the girl tried to confront him, he gave drug-laced soft drinks to her and raped her. However, the girl again tried to talk to the accused about marriage on a couple of days ago. But the accused again gave her drug-laced soft drink.
