Girl found hanging in S. Delhi
A 13-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her Mahipalpur residence in south Delhi on Wednesday afternoon.
The police said the incident took place at L-block in Mahipalpur Extension where the victim lived with her brother, Ajay Pandey and sister-in-law Shashi. Ajay works in a leading software company as technical support engineer.
The police said the victim, Reena, a native of Buxar district in Bihar, was found hanging from a ceiling fan by her sister-in-law. Ajay had gone to his office while Shashi was out for some personal work. When she returned home, she found the main door bolted from inside. Shashi informed her husband that Reena was not opening the door despite repeated knocks who in turn informed the police control room.
A team of cops arrived at the spot and broke open the door. The victim was found hanging from the ceiling fan. “No suicide note was found from her possession. Her brother told us that Reena had come to stay with him for her studies,” a police official said.
In a similar incident, a 26-year-old truck driver, hailing from Rajasthan, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree at Gokalpuri in northeast Delhi. The victim, identified as Harvinder, was found hanging from a tree at around 7 am. No suicide note has been recovered.
