Govt will again send file to L-G

After the Union home ministry favoured that the subject of circle rate is within the jurisdiction of the state, the Delhi government will soon send the file of the Cabinet decision on the issue back to the lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna, again.
It may be recalled that the chief minister Sheila Dikshit and Mr Khanna had been at loggerheads over the issue.
“The Delhi government will soon send the circle rate file again to the lieutenant governor for notification. The way has now been cleared for implementing the decision of the Delhi Cabinet to revise the circle rate. It is intended to ensure that there is not cases of under disclosure of property prices at the time of sale and purchase transaction and will help the city government in curbing stamp duty evasion,” stated a senior official.
Meanwhile, Delhi unit of the BJP alleged that the Delhi government is playing in the hands of the “land mafia” in doubling circle rate in the capital.
Delhi BJP leaders had led delegations to the lieutenant governor on the issue of the circle rate revision earlier also.
