Gz’bad: Rallies staged in Anna’s support
Ghaziabad residents and students on Monday took out marches and came out in support of activist Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption. The spontaneously organised marches were joined by students from public
schools including DPS Ghaziabad, Silver Line, St. Mary’s and Holy Child.
Independent Schools Federation president, Subhash Jain, said: “The appeal of Anna Hazare has forced us to come on roads. His crusade against corruption has motivated the students, youth, men and women throughout the city to display their support and solidarity.” Activists from NGO Art of Living also organised a march in the city to urge the public to support Hazare.
The volunteers of Art of Living asked people to switch off lights at 8 pm on Monday as a mark of support.
“We are still in dark. We have not been freed from slavery till now,” said Kapil Kumar, a march organiser.
