Handicapped boy, parents commit suicide

A 18-year-old handicapped boy was found dead at his Sarita Vihar residence under highly mysterious circumstances on Monday morning. Hours later, two badly mutilated bodies of the deceased’s parents were recovered from the nearby railway tracks. The police suspects it to be a case of suicide.

The deceased have been identified as Saminder Singh Arora, his wife Nimi Arora, both in their 40’s, and their son Karandeep Arora. Karandeep was a student of a private school.
The police has recovered two suicide notes from the family’s residence in F block of Sarita Vihar and a slip from Saminder’s Hyundai Accent car in which financial losses suffered by the family in their business were reportedly blamed for taking the step.
“The cause of Karandeep’s death has not been established. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination. It looks like a case of suicide. The deceased had wished in one of the notes that the property papers and some money kept in the house should be given to his father Daljit Singh,” additional commissioner of police (south east) V.S. Chahal said. Saminder ran a aluminium parts manufacturing factory in Sonepat, Haryana, and had reportedly suffered huge financial losses in 2009.
The incident came to light on Monday at around 8 am when the driver of the family found Karandeep lying unconscious in his room. Unwary about what to do, he rushed to inform Daljit Singh Arora, 80, about it, who in turn made a PCR call. A police team arrived at the residence and asked for Saminder and his wife. “Daljit told us that Saminder and Nimi had left the house on Sunday evening. When we tried to reach them on their mobile, their phones were switched off. Karandeep’s body was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for post-mortem examination,” a police official said.
