Hasty Decision, will hit citizens hard: Gupta
The Delhi BJP is in no mood to accept the trifurcation of MCD. Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta said that the decision of trifurcation of MCD is a hasty decision and fully inspired by politics.
“This decision, which has been taken without due consideration, is not in the interest of 1.70 crore people of Delhi. Due to this decision of the Congress government, the economic burden will increase on people, the development will become unbalanced and progress will also be hindered,” Mr Gupta said adding that, the trifurcation will result in additional burden of `1,500 crores on the people annually.
The BJP will highlight the damages and shortcomings of the trifurcation before the people, he said.
Senior BJP leader Dr Harshvardhan slammed CM Sheila Dikshit and said that complete statehood of Delhi is more important.
“I remember Ms Dikshit staged march from Rajghat to Parliament for complete statehood of Delhi during the BJP’s government regime. The trifurcation of MCD should be the least important thing for a good government. They should take the police and other departments under their control instead of this just because the MCD is led by the BJP,” he said.
