High quote from govt hits hospitals
The superspeciality hospitals at Janakpuri and Tahirpur may take more time for being thrown open to public as no private agency is coming forward as the amount in bid is high.
The government had invited bids for the management of the hospitals, but none of the agencies have come forward as the annual amount the government has suggested is presumably high.
“It is not possible to give medical facilities for a less price after giving such a huge amount to government in the bid. In addition to it, there would be expenses too. We want the government to revise the amount so that the things become affordable for us,” a manager of a private agency interested in the hospitals, said.
According to sources, the city government is also planning to revise the amount and may bring it down.
The Janakpuri Superspeciality hospital was constructed at a cost of Rs 80 crores in 2008 and OPD services were started. It is a 300 bedded hospital. Soon other facilities will be soon available.
Under PPP model, the hospitals are constructed by the government, but the management is done by the private agencies.
