The three suspects held in the Ashok Vihar ‘honour’ killings have reportedly told the Ghaziabad police that they were planning to kill another woman who had eloped against her family’s wishes and married a youth from a different community.

The Ghaziabad police officials said the accused, Mandeep Naggar, Nakul Khari and Ankit Chaudhary, told them that they were planning to kill Khushboo, Mandeep’s sister, but they were unsuccessful in tracing her. “They had even visited Khushboo’s native place in Rohtak and found it locked,” a sources said. Khushboo lives along with her husband Ravi in Rohtak and the three had arrived on Monday evening. However, Khushboo was alerted by Ghaziabad and Delhi police on Sunday about the killings carried out by the accused and she was asked to stay at an undisclosed location.
Meanwhile, the Delhi police has found out that the trio were provided shelter in Dadri by one Rakesh alias Pinto Singh, who is likely to emerge as another key suspect in the case following the arrest of the three youth.
Sources said Pinto is likely to be called up for questioning to ascertain his involvement in the matter. The three suspects were remanded to 14 days judicial remand on Friday. Monika and Kuldeep, who belonged to different castes, were shot dead along with Monika’s cousin, Shobha, last Sunday in Ashok Vihar area in a sensational triple murder which left Delhi shocked.
This was second such incident reported from northwest district in June. Earlier, a youth and his girlfriend were electrocuted to death by girl’s family members at their residence in Swaroop Nagar area.
The two were planning to get married despite belonging to different castes.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
