Husband shocked: Wife Anita really Munni
He is a dejected and lonely man after his wife Anita proved to be Munni, the biological mother of two-year-old Falak, who is battling for life at All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIIMS) in Delhi. Munni’s husband Harpal has also sought action against the persons who had cheated him. Meanwhile, a team of the Delhi police returned after visiting Harpal and his family at Bhadonda village in Jhunjhunu district.
Harpal’s family had paid `2 lakhs to local middleman Mahendra for his wedding with Anita. However, the marriage lasted only for a few months.
“There is no fault on my part. Harpal’s wedding was fixed after we were told that Anita is a genuine person. Not only Anita, another girl Rita was also married in the same village,” said Mahendra, while talking to mediapersons. But Harpal and his family members are shocked at what had happened in the last few days.
Villagers said the Harpal’s house wore a gloomy look after the police took away Anita with Harpal’s mother Santosh lamenting over the incident.
Local social worker blamed skewed sex ratio for such incidents that leave many marriageable youth unmarried. One Rajan Choudhary, who works with an NGO, said the situation is alarming and people buy girls from others states for marriages.
The Jhunjhunu police has launched a manhunt to trace the middlemen and to bust the racket of human trafficking and selling of brides. We have directed all police stations to keep a vigil on such cases and take strict action, says a senior police officer in Jhunjhunu.
