Irked court seeks jailor explanation
A city court on Monday sought an explanation from the Ahmedabad-based Sabarmati Jail superintendent for his failure in producing of the 11 accused involved in the September 2008 Delhi serial blasts before it, leading to adjournment of framing of charges against them.
Scheduling the day for framing of charges against all 13 accused, 11 of whom lodged in Sabarmati Jail have been participating in the court proceeding through video conferencing, additional sessions judge (ASJ) Santosh Snehi Mann had on February 5 issued warrants for their production in her court on Monday.
The court said, “It is non-compliance of the court order, for which the jail superintendent of Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad is required to explain.”
The additional sessions judge sought the jail superintendent’s explanation by March 8, the next date of hearing in the case.
