It’s Sheila who should apologise, says Gupta
A day after Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit slapped a legal notice on Delhi BJP chief Vijendra Gupta for defamation and asked him to apologise, Mr Gupta said it should be the chief minister who should apologising and not him.
The chief minister’s office, in a statement on Sunday, had said that Mr Gupta had been given three days to tender public apology, else a civil case would be filed against him for committing defamation.
Mr Gupta, however, on Monday hardened his stand further and accused the chief minister of creating an “emergency-like” situation by slapping a legal notice against him. “A notice was served at my home on Sunday. What is her intention behind sending the legal notice? Who is she to decide whether the hoarding violated any SC approved policy or not?” asked Mr Gupta.
