Kid calls cops for murder on TV
The Karawal Nagar police in northeast Delhi on Monday went into a tizzy when they received a call about a murder only to find that it was made by a boy who had taken a murder taking place on the television to be real. He told the police that his parents often used to tell him that he should dial the control room number when if he witnesses a crime.
According to the police, the call was made around 3.20 pm and was traced to house No. 61 in gali No. 2 of Karawal Nagar area in northeast Delhi.
“We got the information from the PCR saying that boy has called up saying a man has been murdered. The boy also told the PCR that he did not know how the man was shot,” said a police officer.
It turned out that a young boy, a student of Class 3, was alone in his house on Monday afternoon as his mother had gone to the neighbourhood market. The boy was watching a cartoon show wherein one of the characters was seen as being shot. The boy then dialled the number. When the policemen asked the boy why he made the call, he told them that his parents tell him to dial 100 if he witnesses a crime. “The call was declared a hoax,” said the officer.
