Kids treated with cruelty in mom’s custody: Court
During the proceedings in the case of the three siblings who were allegedly exploited by their school cab driver for over a year, a city court has found that even their mother had subjected them to severe physical violence making their life miserable.
Disturbed by the worsening condition of the children, the additional sessions judge (ASJ) Santosh Snehi Mann wanted the state to intervene to ensure the welfare of the children.
The court said, “In the present case, all the three victims appear to have been physically assaulted repeatedly while in the custody of their mother.” The court dismissed the bail plea of accused cab driver, Lalit Ratawal. The court made the “shocking and disturbing” findings in the medical reports of the three victims examined on three different dates.
The judge said, “The material on record reveals a very dismal picture and plight of the victims. Instead of being treated with sympathy and compassion, they were physically abused and appear to have been treated with utmost cruelty while in the custody of their mother”.
